Unlike other cooking classes where the students just watch, take notes, cut a few herbs and stir a few liquids in a pot, Barbara’s classes are actual hands-on cooking classes. Students prepare the recipes from start to finish, talk about the process, so you can reproduce the recipes at home with ease.
Her classes are great for people who enjoy cooking and want to learn how to “cook outside the box”, as well as for the beginner cooks who want to feel at ease cooking and entertaining. Keeping things simple and planning is the key to successful entertaining!
Barbara has been cooking for over 20 years. She has developed many of her own recipes. She will be using many of these recipes in her class along with recipes from her favorite cook books, such as The New Basics and Silver Palate cook books, Barefoot Contessa cook books by Ina Garten, French Laundry by Thomas Keller, Martha Stewarts Hors d’oeuvres hand book, Weber’s Real Grilling book, Savor Santa Barbara cook book, Julia & Jacques at home cook book and The New American Cooking by William Sonoma, just to name a few great recipe books.
